What A Difference A Year Makes!

Over the weekend, we celebrated Frances' 1 year anniversary of her heart surgery.  Can you believe it has been a year???  I remember so well the morning of August 3, 2011 as Will and I handed our tiny 6 month old over to the team of surgeons.  It was an unreal feeling, and the hours seemed to creep by.  We left the hospital with a different baby- her energy levels began to soar, and she hasn't stopped since!

August 2011- Hard to believe this was all 1 year ago!
August 2012
We had a delicious "Happy Heart Day" dinner at Meme and Grump's house.  We like to celebrate around here! Bubba Grump burgers and grilled Mexican corn were the highlights....and then there was the cake.  You can see below, it reads something along the lines of:  Happy Heart Franis Day.  Not even close to the very specific diagram I drew for the bakery of what I wanted on the cake, but Frances didn't care and it was yummy!
We started the party off with a little swimming

Really good dinner- These really are awesome burgers.  Thanks BG
Sorry Frances, it's your party, but this is not for you!
A cake for me????
We gave Grump a mild heart attack with the cake mess.
Happy girl!
This morning we had our visit with Dr. Carlo, the cardiologist.  We LOVE him.  He reports that Frances is doing amazingly well and her heart looks great.  She put on quite a show for him, clapping and talking.  We are now on annual visits with him!
Frances continues to amaze us everyday, and she is constantly exploring and discovering new things in the world.  So what all is Frances doing these days?  Well, for starters, she got her first tooth last week....and its a molar, crazy!  She is belly crawling all over the house and is starting to try to pull up on furniture.  Here is a video of what she worked on in therapy yesterday morning.  This girl doesn't give up!
